one last entry

Hey,

I know I said I would do 1 last entry, but it kinda slipped with time and I just recently thought of it. Back in The Netherlands my life got back to "normal", except for 1 major change. I am going to college now and I'm not livingin my parent's house anymore. Ofcourse the distance isn't as great as childer in the U.S.A. going out of the house (since this country is a lot smaller), but it's still 1.5hours apart by car and 2.5 hours by public transport. In this last blog I just wanted to thank everybody in the U.S.A. again. (Hope you all had a great thanksgiving/halloween btw!).

Winter is coming soon now and let's just hope you guys won't have a winter like last year's. So far the weather's been quite nice over here. We've only had 2 or 3 days with below-zero temperatures so far.

Anyways, this will be the final final blog, I hope you will all have a great winter and Christmas!

And then your parents are here.

Hey,

This might be my last blog (since I am not sure if I will do one after arriving home in the Netherlands).

My parents arrived June 25 just an hour after scheduled. We went to dinner at Cosimo's just like we did when I first got to the USA. After Cosimo's we went to Hoopla for dessert (because frozen yogurt.., need more reasons??).

On friday we went for a little walk and we found Nancy Phelps on the Walden-Wallkill railtrail. She invited us over to her house so we went there after we were done walking. We had a nice cup of tea and some watermelon. In the evening there was graduation at my school and this was also my last chance to say goodbye to most people. Some of them I will see again soon, but most of them I won't.

This week we have been in Cape Cod and Boston. First we went to Boston and walked the freedom trail to pick up some Boston (and US) history (ofcourse I remembered all that from US history......... okay some.).

In Cape Cod we did too much to name. It was basically 3 days of endless fun (as we called it). We went candlepin bowling, mini-golfing with pirates and we watched the 4th of July Fireworks from the pier. There is about a week left of my USA journey and then it's over already :(.

Maybe if I get a lot of positive comments I will make 1 last blog after arriving home :).

The end is near. *dundunduuuun*.

Hey,

So the end of the exchange year is now definetly approaching, but first let me tell you about last weekend. On friday I went to Danny's house to stay the night and on saturday we went to Sarah's house. Chandler and Emma were also going to be there. We went out for manhunt for a while and we had a campfire with marshmallows and stuff. On sunday we went bowling with the 5 of us and Trevon would meet us at the bowling alley. Trevon was fashionable late (as expected), but we had fun nevertheless.

Now for the future: There are 3 more days of schoolclasses left, then there are New York State regents and school-made finals. That is next week and lasts the whole week (Except for monday). After that there is 1 weekend and 1 week till my parents come to the US and then I'll be here for about 2,5 more weeks. It all goes very fast now.

Well, just a little info on what the future may hold,

Memorial Day Weekend.

Hey,

So past weekend was memorial day weekend, which is something we don't have (at least at this time of the year) in The Netherlands. I believe they had "pinksteren" in The Netherlands this weekend which also gives them a day extra off :). On thursday (the day before the official 4-day weekend started), we had field day. I participated in the homerun derby and I was out in round 1 (but yeah... what do Europeans know about baseball..). After that we played soccer with a lot of people basically till lunch. For lunch there was a barbeque (yay), and they had watermelon too! The last "activity" was "pieing seniors". People would bid money to "pie" a senior in the face with whipped cream. In my opinion there are better ways to use whipped cream (like eating it).

Friday was prom and we almost arrived late (oops!), but we made it just in time for the big picture outside. It was a very nice place (both inside and outside), and the food was also very good. Basically all it was was sitting (talking to people) and dancing.

The rest of the weekend I spent at Jukari's house and we did not undertake much except for a bit of exercise. On monday we went to the movies and we saw Tomorrowland. I think it is a good movie and I would recommend seeing it :).

Well.... that's it for this week.

Not much in the past (2 weeks), but perhaps the future?

Hey,

In the past 2 weeks nothing really happened that would interest you, so I thought: "Hey, let's give everybody a sneakpeak of the future". I want to start with today actually (tuesday, may 19th). In the evening we went to Cosimo's (an Italian restaurant) where I ordered a normal Italian thing. (pasta with tomatosauce and meatballs). Silly me forgetting to ask if I can have it without the cheese on top..... Most of you probably know that I do not enjoy eating molten, yes MOLTEN cheese, not just melted, but extremely hot and molten. So when it came, me being extremely lucky, it wasn't just molten cheese on top, but it had found it's way into every single little hole on the plate there was.I ate it anyway because I can't blame the restaurant for my mistake. Well that was my story for tuesday evening. Now the future!

Tomorrow isn't going to be a terribly special day, but thursday we have field day. Yay! a day off school (sorta) where we go to a park. Let's hope it's not going to rain or anything because that would really ruin it for everybody. I have signed up for a homerun derby, me being European having no idea what I signed up for, but I did it anyway. Turns out I will have to hit a softbal with a baseball bat and hope for a homerun (good thing I get 10 tries).

Then friday there is prom! My first and last ever "Murican prom. I have no idea what to expect (Well.... some slight ideas) so I'll see what it turns out to be like. The rest of the weekend (and thursday evening) I will be spending at Jukari's house and we'll probably have lots of fun.

Have yourselves a great [insert daytime here] and see ya next time.

Another sleepover + Delaware

Hey,

2 weekends ago I went to a sleepover and kind of forgot about my blog so I am writing one for 2 weekends now.

2 weekends ago I went to Jukari's house for a sleepover for the whole weekend. There is not a whole lot to say about this because we quite litteraly didn't do anything for the most part. There was a bit of exercise involved. On sunday I was originally planning to go home, but his mom proposed that I would stay for another night and just take his bus to school in the morning, so that is what I ended up doing. In the morning I got on his bus and went to school like a normal day.

Last weekend we went to Delaware (another state) for Brian's marathon. On saturday we drove around Delaware a bit and explored some towns. There was a 40 minute shopping time built in and I had ice cream with "grandpa" during that time. We went as far down as Maryland (just hopped in and out) to see Ocean City. In the evening we had an Italian buffet, which was very good. On sunday Brian had to run his marathon, which started quite early (7a.m.) and Carolyn did the 9k run (7:30a.m.). Ainsley, Sarah, "grandpa", "grandma" and me waited at the finish line to see both Brian and Carolyn finish. After the race was over and both had finished we went back to Walden.

2 weekends into 1 blog :)

Exercise??? no way!

Hey,

The title may have confused you, but it will all be clear soon (at least that's what I am aiming for...).
Because past week I have done an abnormal (for me) amount of exercise.

It all started on sunday April 12. Sarah (friend) and I went for a bike ride. Honestly I have only a partial idea of where we went because I think we had parts where I had never been before. The parts I know are as following: From my house to Walden, where I was waiting for Sarah to come (about 2-3 miles)/(3-5kilometers). Then from Walden to Wallkill (the route we took was about 4-5miles)/(7-8 kilometers). After that I honestly only partially now it. The last part of our trail was an actual, you guessed it, trail. The Walden - Wallkill trail which is about 3miles (4-5kilometers (y u no use metric 'Merica?)). At the end of that trail it ended and we were out for a couple of hours (about 3.5 hours).

Then on monday something very special happened. I actually started a bit of running. After school I cycled to Alyssa's house to run with her. We ran down Mills road, crossed Beamer road and then did the Decker couldesac (yes, I do realize that 95% of the people who read this have absolutely NO idea where that is, and that's where google maps comes into play, have fun!). After getting back to her house we played basketball outside for a while and then I returned home.

On friday we planned to run again, and so we did. We went down the other side of Mills road into Velde Court couldesac and back. After some playing outside we went inside where we watched the movie "Inception", which you do NOT want to watch if you have a headache! When we finished "Inception", which was about 2 hours and 13 minutes after the movie started, we were looking through Netflix and found something that looked interesting (to me... she had already watched a couple episodes). A series called "Lost", which apparently ended in 2010. Well.... it is an interesting series and now I want to watch the rest of the episodes, while I usually don't like television series.

On sunday Jukari, Sarah and I met up to do some fun stuff. We went for a bike ride and played outside for a total of about 2-2.5hours and then we made oreo truffels (yum!). Besides that we did not really do much because well... sunday.

May thou haveth any questions thou can asketh me through my blog or wherever thou may findeth me.
